You must load the appropriate software for your model. The software on this page is for the IOLM DR-8-PNIO (DIN rail model with 2 dedicated DIO ports).

If the wrong FPGA is loaded on your IO-Link Master, you may need to send the IO-Link Master into Pepperl+Fuchs Comtrol, Inc. for re-initialization.

U-Boot Bootloader

U-Boot is a high-level bootloader that has networking and console command line capabilities. Among other things, it implements a TFTP server and Pepperl+Fuchs Comtrol, Inc. Corporation's new discovery protocol. This verifies that a Linux kernel image exists in NAND, then copies it to RAM and starts the IO-Link Master The U-Boot version is displayed after the image name.

The FPGA partition/image contains configuration data used by programmable hardware within the IOLM DR-8-PNIO.

FPGA images are specific to the hardware and software model, the IOLM DR-8-PNIO.

System Primary/Backup uImage

The uImage contains the Linux kernel and the RAM-resident root file system. It does not contain industrial protocol support or application-specific features.

There is a Primary and Backup version loaded on the IO-Link Master. The IO-Link Master automatically reloads the Backup uImage if the file system corrupted. The uImage version is displayed after the Primary/Backup uImage.

Application Base

The Application Base image comprises a flash-resident file system containing application and PROFINET IO protocol support.
