Windows: NS-Link Installation for DeviceMaster DM/PRO/RTS/Serial Hub

This device driver assembly supports Windows XP SP3 through Windows 2008 operating systems.

Technical Support recommends that you update to the latest version of SocketServer before installing an NS-Link device driver.

You can use this procedure to install the NS-Link device driver for your DeviceMaster (DM-2000 series, DeviceMaster PRO, DeviceMaster RTS, or DeviceMaster Serial Hub).

  1. If necessary, locate the NS-Link device driver assembly and make it available to the host system.

  2. Execute the NS-Link driver assembly (DeviceMaster_Windows_x.xx.exe) and click Next to start the installation

  3. Click Next to install in the default location.

  4. Click Install

  5. Click Finish to complete the installation of the wizard.

    Leave the Launch DeviceMaster Driver Installation box checked. If you do not check this box, you can use the shortcut under the Start button at: Pepperl+Fuchs Comtrol, Inc. > DeviceMaster Driver Installation Wizard.

  6. Click Next to start the driver installation.

  7. Click Install and Next.

  8. Select the DeviceMaster model that you are installing from the list and click Next.

  9. Enter the number of this DeviceMaster model that you want to install.

  10. Repeat Steps 8 and 9 for each DeviceMaster that you want to install.

  11. Click Proceed.

  12. Click the Launch Comtrol Drivers Management Console button.

  13. Return to the Installation wizard and click Close.

  14. You are ready to begin NS-Link driver configuration. Driver installation is not complete until you have associated the MAC address to the DeviceMaster or a suitable IP address is entered. If you are installing multiple DeviceMaster, repeat this procedure for each DeviceMaster.
