DeviceMaster LT Configuring Socket Ports

You can access the SocketServer or NS-Link web pages to configure socket port attributes using a web browser or through PortVision DX.

For socket configuration information see the Help system when the SocketServer/NS-Link web page opens, or you can unpack this zipped file and save it to your system.

This procedure is based on SocketServer/NS-Link version 11.00 or higher.

Make sure that the DeviceMaster LT contains the latest version of SocketServer before configuring sockets or security.

  1. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the DeviceMaster that you want to configure or optionally, start PortVision DX, highlight the DeviceMaster in the Device List pane that you want to configure, and click WebPage button.

  2. Enter the IP address of the DeviceMaster that you want to configure.

  3. Click Port.

  4. Click the Port # for which you want to configure socket port settings (serial, TCP connection configuration, and UDP connection configuration).

  5. Make the required changes, and then click Save.

  6. Optionally, access the following pages to configure additional settings.

    1. Click Network to do the following:

    2. Click Diagnostics for the following:

      • View the system log

      • View a device snapshot

      • Operate Port Monitor

    3. Click System

      • Update firmware: the web page (SocketServer/NS-Link) or Bootloader

      • Save and upload DeviceMaster configuration files

      • Restore DeviceMaster system defaults

      • Reboot the DeviceMaster

  7. You are now ready to connect the serial devices to the DeviceMaster ports. Open the DeviceMaster Installation and Configuration Guide if you need cabling information.
