DeviceMaster Modbus Router Installation OverviewIf you are not familiar with installing the DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD, you can use the following information
to guide you through the installation or use the appropriate
User Guide. -
Install the hardware.

Install PortVision DX so that you can
easily configure the network information.

If you have previously installed
PortVision DX you may want to verify that you are running the latest version. PortVision DX is continuously updated with new
features and added support for the latest hardware model releases. |

If necessary,
download the latest version of Modbus Router
if the DeviceMaster UP was not ordered with the protocol loaded.
DeviceMaster MOD models are loaded with Modbus Router at the factory. Always verify that the latest version is loaded.
If the DeviceMaster UP contains Modbus Router, you should
verify that it is the latest version
before configuring the serial characteristics.
If a new firmware version is available, upload
the firmware to the DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD. Optionally, install and configure the
serial COM port redirector. -
Configure the DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD port characteristics for your environment using the embedded web pages
on the DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD.
There are two ways that you can access the embedded web pages:
Open PortVision DX, right-click on the appropriate DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD unit and select
Webpage. Open your web browser and enter the IP address of the DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD.

Connect the serial devices to the DeviceMaster UP or DeviceMaster MOD using the appropriate document for your model:
