RocketPort Jet Driver Installation: Windows 7

Make sure that you have done the following:

  • Unpackaged the driver files

  • If necessary, set the DIP switches.

  • Installed the RocketPort Jet in the PC.

Use the following procedure to install the device driver.

  1. If you have not done so, power on the PC.

    Windows 7 will display a list of devices for which Windows 7 could not find device drivers and a serial bus adapter will be listed.

  2. Go to the Device Manager.

    1. Right-click My Computer or Computer, click Manage, and then highlight Device Manager.

    2. Expand the Multi-port serial adapters entry, right-click the RocketPort Jet you want to configure, and then click Properties.

  3. Click Multi-port Serial Adapters.

  4. Click Serial Bus Adapter.

  5. Right-click on the RocketPort Jet and click Update Driver Software.

  6. Click Browse My Computer for Driver Software.

  7. Browse to the location you unzipped the driver files.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Click Finish.

    Windows 7 will install the driver.

    The RocketPort Jet 2-port installs four ports by default.

  10. Go to the Device Manager.

  11. Click Ports (COM & LPT).

  12. Click Enhanced Communications Port X (COMxx).

  13. Click Properties and then Data Rate.

  14. Check the Input Clock Frequency. The clock frequency should be 14.7456 MHz.

    If it is not, select 14.7456 or Autodetect Clock Frequency.

  15. Click OK.
