RocketPort Jet Driver Installation: Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008

Make sure that you have done the following:

  • Unpackaged the driver files

  • If necessary, set the DIP switches.

  • Installed the RocketPort Jet in the PC.

Use the following procedure to install the device driver.

  1. If you have not done so, power on the PC.

    Plug and play will detect a new hardware and start the New Hardware Wizard.

  2. Click Show Me Other Options when asked to install the disc.

  3. Click Browse My Computer for Driver Software (Advanced) and browse to the location where you unpackaged the driver files.

  4. Click Next.

    Windows will install the driver.

  5. Click Finish.

    The RocketPort Jet 2-port installs four ports by default.

  6. Go to the Device Manager.

    1. Click Start, right-click Computer.

    2. Click Manage.

    3. Click Diagnostics and then double-click Device Manager.

    4. Expand the Multi-port serial adapters entry, right-click the RocketPort Jet you want to configure, and then click Properties.

  7. Click Ports (COM & LPT).

  8. Click Enhanced Communications Port X (COMxx).

  9. Click Properties and then Data Rate.

  10. Check the Input Clock Frequency. The clock frequency should be 14.7456 MHz.

    If it is not, select 14.7456 or Autodetect Clock Frequency.

  11. Click OK.
